Kreiss & GFP – Soft Memory EP – Electronical Reeds

Kreiss & GFP - Soft Memory EP - Electronical ReedsFrom time to time likes going off the beaten tracks and predicable paths just to offer different and less usual material when one least expects it. For its last EP of 2011, the label with the reeds leaves the dancefloor on the side to embrace the “inner self”. This EP should be savored in intimacy, as it offers a journey of senses and catches the listener’s emotions instantly. This odyssey was written Parisian duo & who demonstrate once again their musical diversity and the unbound sound universe. The opening track Moving Keyboards fascinates by the masterful piano improvisation moving on a light and subtle rhythmic background. This piano and its bewitching melody evolve more deeply through In Motion Blue leaving the kick and the bass on a side letting the beauty of the instrument speak for itself. Washing Head abandons the piano in favor of the cellos offering a more introspective and melancholic track. This emotional adventure continues with the deep and nostalgic Patwathead, with its syncopated melody and catchy atmosphere. The mesmerizing and hypnotic Sweet Brawn ends smoothly this introspective journey through listener’s emotions.

Felix Cage – Love Again EP – Electronical Reeds

Felix Cage - Love Again EP - Electronical ReedsFollowing the success of Mascarade EP this summer, remixed by Rodriguez Jr. and Nhar, with top 100 charts and playlists from artists like Sebastien Leger, Laurent Garnier and Stephan Bodzin, is back on the Franco-Belgian label with a new three tracks EP including a collaboration with The Lazarusman, who’s voice marked the releases of Stimming, Aki Bergen and Till Von Sein among others. From winter chill of Blizzard to summer dancefloor Mascarade, and Electronical Reeds were bound to bring more vibes this rainy autumn.

The title track of the EP offers an encounter between two very personal and emotionally rich universes where the pads and melodies of Felix Cage are amplified by the atypical voice of The Lazarusman. With its powerful kick and its deep bass, its melancholy synths and its break that opens the way for the slaming lyrics of the South African artist filled with emotions, the title slowly invades the senses to gradually release the energy they contain.

The tension of the EP soars with “You Don’t Know Me”. Thrown at the crowd in a set, like a blame in an argument, the track surprises with its powerful bassline. This power is counterbalanced by the melodies evoking atmosphere of doubt and mystery. Six intense minutes of journey into the world of Deep Melodic Techno. The EP ends with the emotionally rich and intense track “Closer”. It tells a story of a relationship through a few notes of piano, captivating atmosphere of synths and the vibration of bass.

Kreiss & GFP – The State Of Slave EP – Electronical Reeds

Kreiss & GFP - The State Of Slave EP - Electronical ReedsThe Parisian duo & is back on for a new EP of the most beautiful effect. After the success of their release Vis-A-Vis EP charted by Rennie Foster and Thomas Schumacher, they relapse into their so particular world where the music marries melancholy to the groove, producing tracks dancefloor as well as emotional or downtempo. This approach finds its full meaning in this new release that provides a broad overview of all their talent and potential.

The track The Consumence opens this EP with an atmosphere Deep / Minimal Techno. After a long atmospheric introduction, Renan Cadoret’s voice arrives gradually on a dackdrop of percussion. Mixing a powerful kick and a deep bass, the track literally transports its audience into Deep Techno areas extremely efficient. “State For A Track” offers a more Minimal approach built on a powerful kick, a hithat and synths that define the little scary mood of this title. This atmosphere is increasing progressively to explode during the break and knock out a dancefloor. The end title Waiting World Failure continues the exploration of dark environments with a track rich in synths and its surprising break. The occasional appearance of a slight kick provides a refreshing breath in this “abstract” universe.
