Ephti – Blank EP – Electronical Reeds

ER023 - Ephti - Blank EP - Electronical ReedsAfter successful Remixes EP, takes this year yet again an unexpected sidestep music wise during this month of December. Indeed, after the first “Soft Memory” Ep from , embracing the “inner self” released in December 2011, the label entrusts its new introspection to the Parisian producer Ephti, one of duo members. After having remixed Uner’s track Sixthousand released a few days ago, Ephti continues to charm our ears with his very personal approach of the electronic music. He immediately takes us into his universe of piano and aerial sounds on a subtle and bewitching background. Both titles show brilliantly the talent and the open-mindedness of this producer but also the musical diversity of this label, decidedly atypical in the current musical landscape.

Kreiss & GFP – Remixes EP – Electronical Reeds

ER022 - Kreiss & GFP - Remixes EP - Electronical Reeds w/ UNER, Rennie Foster, Alex QThanks to three EP’s and two remixes on , the Parisian duo has successfully established themselves in the electronic music scene. Today the label releases a “Remixes EP” which provides a new vision of the prolific duo’s original work where each of the remixers come with a very personal touch.

The Spanish artist UNER, from Diynamic and Cadenza, revisits “State For A Track”, which while keeping the soul of the original production, becomes a real dancefloor hit. The Canadian producer Rennie Foster who in the past worked with labels such as F Communications, Subject Detroit and Rebirth, reworks the track “Vis-à-vis”, originally composed in collaboration with DJ Kaine, to develop a vision tinged by the sound of Detroit and its ruthless efficiency. After having remixed Kollektiv Turmstrasse and Oliver Schories, German artist Alex Q selects “The Consumence” and its hypnotic voice of Renan Cadoret. Through seven minutes of the track, he embarks the listeners on a unique journey into his Deep universe. DJ Kaine, while selecting the same title, chooses an opposite approach and composes a pronounced Tech House atmosphere while sublimating the Renan Cadoret’s sweet voice. This “Remixes EP” closes with a special remix. Ephti, half of the duo Kreiss & GFP, reappropriates the track Moving Keyboards and reworks its atmosphere through the universes of his solo project.

Strengthened by their different EP’s on the label, the two friends are open to a contrasting and ripened travel into the musical world of one another. Through his title Horizon Badwater Ephti held his hard-hitting baseline typical to the Kreis & GFP duo but enriched with hypnotic sounds that offer a unique atmosphere oscillating between energy and calm. With his remix, Felix Cage preserves the powerful approach title has with his own sounds, including his special touch of synths and offers an equally effective title on the dancefloor. Fady One – Add Âme EP – Electronical Reeds

ER020 - Fady One - Add Ame EP - Electronical ReedsFaithful to its approach to discover emerging artists, welcomes for this new release the Brussels-based artist Fady One. DJing since 2004, she starts organizing events in 2007 first with “Soirées Secretes”, then later in 2009 with “Zukunft”, concept that became a place to be in Brussels nightlife. The love of German sound clearly inspires Fady in her productions resulting in an EP oscillating between melodic Minimal and Techno.

The title track opens with a powerful rhythm with plenty of light thanks to a sweet melody, accentuated by cellos that lead the ambience to darker and emotional piece. This approach drags smoothly its audience to a certain melancholy and darkness. Davide Napolitano starts with a more percussive rhythm than the original mix. The different elements keep coming faster creating quickly a more dancefloor dynamic that is more efficient and sustained. The remix speeds things up while the original track takes time to install the atmosphere. He retains this melancholy touch untouched despite the pressure in the rhythm. Read more
