October 2010, Electronical Reeds released its first EP and quickly won the respect of several well-known DJs, artists and medias. Two years later, after more than twenty releases and after several Top100, Electronical Reeds celebrates its second birthday with a special retrospective compilation with the crème de la crème of its artists. Let’s go for this journey through two years of releases.

After a first remix of the track Porro composed by Optional Feast, the Brussels-based artist TMP is back with his first EP on the Franco-Belgian label Electronical Reeds. He offers us three Tech House tracks of a ruthless efficiency that arrives just in time for the beginning of the summer season. Menthol opens the EP with a powerful kick and its steady rhythm embellished with zithers orientalizing the emerging atmosphere. Take You Away, slightly less intense, remains a real dancefloor bomb with its voice gradually taking us into the world of this track. This three-track EP closes with the thrilling Red Dub. Electronical Reeds launches its first compilation in the beginning of 2012. With thirteen releases in fifteen months of existence, the Franco-Belgian label has mixed young talents and already confirmed artists. Through the “Essential Reeds” compilation Electronical Reeds is looking back at the releases of the past months offering thirteen tracks of its ever growing catalogue. With supports from DJs like Sebastien Leger, Uner, Rennie Foster or Secret Cinema among others, label’s artists were able to establish themselves and grow on the electronic music scene throughout 2011. “Essential Reeds” is a look in label’s past before a new busy year. After the success of its first release Zahyara EP, Electronical Reeds naturally continues to work with the Belgian duo Optional Feast and always with a selection of choice remixers. Indeed, after Mirko Loko and Ecco on first release, Optional Feast is remixed now by Pablo Cahn and TMP. With these two artists, the label stays true to its spirit which is the alliance between the names of renowned and young talent.

After we have bewitched with the warmth of African sounds, Optional Feast continues to travel and we embark on a journey into the heart of Orient with the presence of Afghan guitars. From the beginning, a dynamic rhythmic with Tech House touches sounds. Voices with spiritual and mystical tones complete the track before the arrival of these captivating guitars. The break, with the quality that we begin to recognize this duo, is positioned perfectly to ensure maximum effect. Percussion and bass are added to give the song its full power! Not to mention the subtle presence of two kicks, one more powerful and heavier that another appears only after the first third of the track. This evolutionary track gives a new dimension to Middle Eastern music.
